At least 80 Valka nursing home residents contract Covid-19
RIGA, Feb 4 (LETA) - At least 80 residents in Valka nursing home have contracted Covid-19, Valka Region Council Chairman Vents Armands Krauklis (Vidzeme Party) told LETA.
In one week since Prime Minister Krisjanis Karins (New Unity) told local government leaders that a solution would be found to provide local governments with information about new Covid-19 cases detected in the regions, nothing has changed, said Krauklis.
"We have not received any official information about the Covid-19 outbreak at the Valka nursing home," said Krauklis.
It is possible that nursing home employees have also contracted the coronavirus, said Krauklis, adding that Valka residents were concerned about the Covid-19 outbreak.
According to the Disease Prevention and Control Center's data, 117 Valka residents have tested positive for Covid-19 during the past fourteen days.
