Riga, Jan 29 (LETA) - Norma-A, which provides passenger transport under the brand Ecolines, will start commercial passenger transport on regional bus routes Riga-Rezekne, Daugavpils-Rezekne and Daugavpils-Rezekne-Ludza from Friday, January 31, the Road Transport Directorate (ATD) informed LETA.

ATD pointed out that on the Daugavpils-Rezekne route, Ecolines will provide commercial services from the Daugavpils bus station at 10.30 am and from the Rezekne bus station at 12.40 every day.

On the Daugavpils-Rezekne-Ludza route, Ecolines will start commercial bus services from Ludza bus station at 6.40 am and from Daugavpils bus station at 4.30 pm daily.

At the same time, on the Riga-Rezekne route, commercial bus services will be operated from Riga International Bus Station daily at 8.40 am, 11.40 am, 2.20 pm and 6.30 pm, and from Rezekne Bus Station daily at 6.30 am, 7.30 am, 12.10 and 5.30 pm.

ATD reminds that the carrier operates commercial transport services on the regional route network without a state subsidy.

So far, ATD has approved the following commercial bus routes - Riga-Salaspils, Riga-Daugavpils, Riga-Liepaja, Riga-Ventspils, Riga-Balvi, Riga-Riga Airport.

Ecolines turnover in 2023 was EUR 27.039 million, which is 10 percent more than in 2022, while the company's profit increased by 41.1 percent to EUR 1.695 million, according to Firmas.lv.

The company was registered in 1993 and has a share capital of EUR 4.739 million. Norma-A is 82.17 percent owned by Ecolines Estonia.
