To select information you are interested in (online search, agents,
archives), type one or more keywords in the search field! If necessary, you
can specify the time period or the language in which the information has to
be searched.
By default, keywords entered in the searching area are not treated as a
phrase, but are searched for as scattered words in the text. To search a
phrase, it has to be put in quotation marks so the keywords are searched for
as an exact passage in the text. For a more complete search result, you can
use further search combinations to search for information:
N.B.: When creating search combinations, it is important to observe the use of symbols, upper and lower case letters in the use of operator words* (UN, AND, И, OR, OR, ИЛИ). When grouping phrases for a broader search, it is important to use all the symbols in the order given in the examples. Words and phrases can be combined in different ways to suit the needs of the searcher.
solar energy – when typed in the search field, both keywords will be sought regardless of their position (for example: solar and energy). The search may result in them appearing in different places in the text;
"solar energy" – if the phrase you are searching for is put in quotation marks, it will be sought as a single phrase – both/all words in the quotation marks together;
solar OR energy – if two keywords are separated with VAI, OR, ИЛИ, they can be found together or separately in the text, meaning that they can appear together in one document, or separately in different documents;
electr* – a search by the root of a word will produce words with the same root, but with different endings. The results will be much broader. (For example: electricity, electric, electronic);
"solar energy" ~"wind energy" – if you do not want to find entries containing a particular keyword, e.g., wind, or the phrase wind energy, enter the symbol ~ before it in the search field and put the unwanted keyword or phrase in quotation marks!
Grouping words and phrases in various ways provides more comprehensive search results.
Some examples:
("solar energy" OR "wind energy") AND nuclear power plants
"solar energy" OR ("wind energy" AND nuclear power plants)
If too much information is found, choose a more specific keyword or phrase, or add a more specific word to an existing keyword using the above combinations!
If the necessary information is not found:
If you select the "Uppercase-Sensitive" option, only entries that
mention the keyword as a proper name (personal name, place name, company
name) will be displayed in the search results.
Example: A search for the keyword Linden with the
uppercase sensitivity option will produce entries with the word Linden
either as surnames, company names or at the beginning of a sentence.
