Latvia First overtakes National Alliance as most popular political party in Latvia - survey

RIGA, April 24 (LETA) - Latvia First has overtaken the National Alliance as the most popular political party in Latvia, according to a SKDS survey commissioned by Latvian Television.
According to the latest survey, where respondents were asked who they would vote for if the Saeima elections were held tomorrow, 8.6 percent said that they would vote for Latvia First, which is 0.5 percentage points more when compared to January.
The National Alliance has seen the largest decline in their ratings since January, by 1.8 percentage points to 7.8 percent support.
New Unity is the third most popular political party with 6.3 percent support in March/April, which is a 0.3 percentage point increase since January.
The next most popular political part of the Union of Greens and Farmers with 5.3 percent support, the United List with 5.1 percent support and the Progressives with 4.4 percent support.
Stability follows with 4.1 percent support and Harmony with three percent support.
Meanwhile, 33 percent of those surveyed said that they do not know who they would vote for if the Saeima elections were held tomorrow, while 14.5 percent said that they would not vote.
This survey was conducted at the end of March and beginning of April, questioning 1,813 Latvian residents.
