RIGA, Aug 30 (LETA) - Latvian national men's basketball team lost an 80:84 (18:22, 20:20, 18:25, 24:17) thriller against the tournament's favorite Serbia at EuroBasket 2025 in Riga on Saturday.

Serbia have so far won all three games in Group A, ensuring a place in the last 16. Turkey have two wins and are playing Portugal tonight. Portugal have one win in two matches. Latvia and Estonia each have won one match, and Czechia have lost all three matches played so far in Group A.

As reported, Latvia opened the FIBA EuroBasket 2025 group phase with a 73:93 loss to Turkey on Wednesday and went on to narrowly beat Estonia 72:70 on Friday.

Latvia is scheduled to play Portugal on Monday and Czechia Wednesday.

FIBA EuroBasket 2025 got underway with the group phase played from August 27 to September 5, before the knockout and medal stage being held solely in Riga from September 6 to 14.
