Latvian construction costs up 1.6% in May
RIGA, June 30 (LETA) - In May 2025, Latvian construction costs rose by an average of 1.6 percent against the same period a year ago, according to the data released by the Central Statistical Bureau on Monday.
Labor remuneration of workers increased by 5.3 percent, maintenance and operational costs of machinery and equipment rose by 1.8 percent, and prices of building materials went down 0.6 percent.
In May 2025, compared to April, construction costs increased by 0.2 percent.
Maintenance and operational costs of machinery and equipment were up 0.1 percent, prices of building materials increased by 0.1 percent, and labor remuneration of construction workers rose by 0.5 percent.
In May, the average level of construction costs was mostly affected by an increase in labor remuneration to auxiliary workers of road building, workers carrying out finishing works (roofers, plasterers, sanitary technicians and others), electricians, as well as asphalters.
